The beauty of making things solely for myself is that every project can be different. Designing for “mass production” is a great challenge, just not the one I am looking for. ABC’s mindset is about narrowing down just the essential features a pack should have to make one’s life as enjoyable as it for a specific use: hiking, trekking, commuting or even working.
Boiling down to the essentials is important to shave unnecessary weight off your shoulders, but the secret to a lightweight backpack lies in its construction, the choice of material, and a conscious effort to keep things simple.
