The site is changing (slowly)

Hey, this is just a small announcement regarding the site being a bit of a mess right now. I used to maintain pages separately, adding information and linking everything in what felt like a logical order so that you can find everything easily. Unfortunately, this was very time consuming and I would rather create content than create order out of chaos. Hence, I am changing a few things around.

I like to be the guy with a plan when I get out in the wild. Let’s do the same thing here since it’s the digital equivalent of a jungle right now. Here are changes you can be looking forward to.

Done

#1 Introduce a blog to replace the individual pages. The posts will go to the Workshop Chronicles page. That way the posts can have better tagging, categories and let me focus on the content more than the site.

#2 Since most visitors are interested in gear porn 🤷‍♂️ build a friendlier display under the Project Pictures page that only shows Project Pictures.

#3 Each static page featuring a bag or experiment is converted to multiple “blog posts” and split across different categories such as Project Pictures or Behind the Scene amongst others.

#4 Introduce a chronological post list to display the historical order of the posts with only small excerpts.

#5 Add missing content for bags built in late 2020 and 2021. 🤦‍♂️ In order:

#6 Check tags for all major bag components and fabrics and find a way to navigate tags properly to Search for stuff.

#7 Design a new identity and logos for site and pack’s labels.

#8 Reshoot featured image for bags I still have around. Specifically the Monarch ✅ and the Slumber ⏳.

#9 Shoot / Find better images for the landing page and rework some of the introduction text.

#10 Digitize some of the research sketches and post these under the Pattern category.

#11 Take pictures of the prototype Duffel bag and post at least some project pictures.

#12 Change search landing page to display excerpts instead of full posts.

#13 Build a decent tools “recommendation” list with affiliate links to at hopefully pay for the website hosting.

As entropy grows, we’ll figure things out. I will work as fast as I can, which is probably turtle speed since I have a day job. Thank you for your patience.
